Bindia is a family name from a matriarchal tribe in Senegal, the Bassaris. Savaria is a Quebecer last name with French roots. Bindia Savaria Consulting is a direct reflection of Julie Savaria, incorporating her two identities into one. Social justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion have always been present in her life.

Julie Savaria is a global citizen at heart. Having lived in many African countries, Julie always wanted to be part of solutions tailored to local and global challenges.

A biochemist by training, Julie worked in clinical research for 5 years looking at the effect of environmental contaminants on child development, before completing an MBA degree from McGill university. It is during her MBA that she deepened her expertise in social impact and human-centered design thinking, while understanding the potential of the public, private and social sector working together to contribute to sustainable and relevant solutions.

Julie worked for forward-thinking companies, such as Emzingo, a B Corp specializing in leadership development and social impact consulting, where she led their Global Engagement, internal coaching and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion taskforce, and Ashoka Canada. To continue her work in Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI), she founded Bindia Savaria Consulting, to help organizations start, deepen or establish their JEDI strategy or program and further the learning development in JEDI to make the world a more inclusive and equitable place for the generations to come.

Julie is also the co-chair for the B Local Québec chapter, with a focus on Collective Impact Action, and the manager for fellowships and scholarships at the Mccall Macbain Foundation.
